Main topic at the Forum up#BERLIN: Climate protection & sustainability, new housing construction, serial and modular building, digitalisation – TECH IN CONSTRUCTION at bautec – Software companies present digital solutions – Berlin Chamber of Architects recognises selected specialist events at advanced training
From 18 to 21 February 2020 the slogan in Hall 4.2 at bautec in Berlin is: Planning. Building. Operating. up#BERLIN is a new joint project by the National Association of the German Building Industry (Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie) and bautec, combining the components of planning, building, housing and operating at one trade fair for the first time. The innovative platform that is up#BERLIN provides all those involved in the value added chain of building with some ideal networking opportunities. The exhibition is rounded off by a programme of papers with outstanding contributors at the Forum up#BERLIN.
On the Tuesday (18.2.) the main topics will be climate protection and sustainability. Among the issues under discussion here will be the requirements for planning using sustainable building products and their practical implementation, as well as building concepts that are fit for the future. With the technical congress on “Serial Construction in Digitalisation” and the technical symposium “Social Acceptance for New Housing Construction”, on the Wednesday (19.2.) the focus will be on affordable living spaces as well as on serial and modular construction. On the same day the Forum up#BERLIN will begin with a political discussion. State Secretary Anne Katrin Bohle, Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and the Community (BMI), will hold discussions with Marcus Becker, Vice President of the National Association of the German Building Industry (HDB), Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann, President of the German National Chamber of Architects (BAK) and Axel Gedaschko, President of the National Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies on the subject of ”Serial and modular building – a contribution to affordable housing and construction”.
Innovation and Digitalisation, working together in partnership, young professionals and skilled workers are the topic on Thursday (20.2.) at the Forum up#BERLIN. Topics and questions such as “Climate Protection + Building – what should be done?”, “Innovations – building in the future” and “The digitalisation of construction – and now?” will be dealt with in panel discussions with some highly qualified participants. Experts from Norway including Jette Cathrin Hopp from the Norwegian architectural practice Snøhetta, and representatives of Norwegian exhibitors such as Joma International, MIRIS, Nordic Smart House, Tewo and Cobuilder will also be contributing to the various panel discussions. The main theme on the Friday will be “Subcontractor Management and Safety on Construction Sites”.
The Berlin Chamber of Architects recognises the congress on “Serial Construction in Digitalisation” and the symposium “Social Acceptance for New Housing Construction” as advanced training events. Both of these events are taking place on 19 February at the Forum up#BERLIN. A visit to the Forum up#BERLIN on Thursday, 20 February also counts as participation in an advanced training event. Other events that are recognised by the Berlin Chamber of Architects as instructional components are the bautec Congress “Urban Housing | Positions and Perspectives” and the supporting programme of GRÜNBAU BERLIN. More details about the credentialling and rating of the events can be found online: Forum up#BERLIN, bautec Congress and Forum GRÜNBAU BERLIN.
TECH IN CONSTRUCTION at bautec
The building industry is becoming increasingly digitalised. Whether the tasks are the processing of orders, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Smart Building or Virtual Reality – the scope offered by start-ups in addressing these issues is massive. With their innovative solutions and digital technology, start-ups are specialising increasingly in finding ways of helping the construction industry to adapt to the digital future. Because the opportunities in this field are very diverse, new start-ups are constantly emerging in the so-called Construction Tech area.
In collaboration with the start-up fair TECH IN CONSTRUCTION, bautec 2020 features a separate area for start-ups for the first time, where they can present their solutions and products on a display space of some 250m² in Hall 4.2. In particular the exhibits will feature digital innovations that will help to familiarise the construction industry with forward-looking processes and technologies. Among the new business ventures exhibiting here are bex technologies, CAPMO, Cosuno Ventures, DiConneX, Lyke and myCraftnote Digital. These new enterprises will be staging their presentations on the first day of bautec, Tuesday Dienstag (18.2.), between 12 and 2 p.m. on the Start-up Pitches at the Forum up#BERLIN.
Software companies present digital solutions
The wide range of different items on offer in Hall 4.2 is being augmented by the presentation of digital solutions by various software companies. nesseler bau will be making its debut at bautec 2020 and will be focusing on its nQ quality assurance software for the construction industry. The nQ app enables teams on the construction site to carry out mobile checking and documentation processes at any time and in this way to access all the necessary project information, identify problems at an early stage and take immediate remedial action. Hottgenroth is presenting its “HottScan HS-1” 3D spatial scanner, which uses 3D laser scanning to expertly compile data about rooms and buildings for use in building surveys. Also in Hall 4.2 companies including Codex Software, Dietrich’s AG, Hasenbein, IN Software, KWP Informationssysteme, Shm Software, SolarComputer and WinWorker Software will be presenting their digital solutions. 123erfasst, Bluebeam and Vergabe 24 will be joining nessler bau as newcomers to bautec 2020.
