Georg Fischer wins the bautec.INNOVATION AWARD

The Georg Fischer company has been declared the outright winner of the bautec.INNOVATION AWARD 2020 with its Hycleen Automation system, which automatically regulates and monitors circulating and flushing valves. Frank Wildgrube, Technical Sales Technical Building Services for Georg Fischer, received the bautec.BEAR and a certificate. He stated: “It makes us proud to have won this award for our innovative product. We in the Sales Team East have worked very hard together to achieve first place.”

This is the second time that the bautec innovation prize has been awarded. A total of 14 products were nominated, and they were assessed on the basis of their innovative approach as new developments or refinements to existing products, the ease with which they can be practically implemented by the user, their practical uses and method and quality of their presentation. The winner was chosen by trade visitors to the fair, who cast their votes right up to a few hours before the announcement of the award, using a non-identifiable evaluation form.

The second place went to the heat pump for wood-burning stoves from Brunner. With this product a wood burning stove in living spaces, connected to a water supply, becomes a highly efficient heating system. In third place was the carbon-concrete ceiling panel from Goldbeck. This is corrosion-resistant, with a long working life and designed to conserve resources, and it presents a genuine alternative to the steel reinforcement of standard supports.

For the first time the bautec.INNOVATION AWARD was extended to include start-ups, with a special prize for innovations. Competing with three other start-ups, the Cosuno software solution received the most votes. Cosuno helps construction companies to find subcontractors and to organise tenders.

The nominees were chosen by a panel of experts comprising Prof. Dr. Susanne Rexroth of HTW Academy for Technology and Business Berlin, Cordula Fay from GdW National Association of German Housing Enterprises and Ulrich Zink from BAKA National Association for the Renovation of Older Buildings. A total of 36 entries were received from all over Germany as well as from Austria and Italy.
