Welcome to bautec 2020!

Berlin Skyline

Taking place for the nineteenth time in 2020, bautec has become established as one of Germany's leading construction industry trade events.

The focus of visitor interest was on the concept of energy-saving which integrates the building exterior with intelligent systems engineering, sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, climate protection measures and the use of state-of-the art building materials and methods.

Demand for construction stems mainly from the private, public and housing sector, whereby ever stricter stipulations as regards the implementation of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions have led to an even greater demand. The consequences of this positive trend were evident at bautec, which once again confirmed its role as one of the most important events for Europe’s construction industry.

For exhibitors and visitors, the unique benefits of bautec lie in the all-inclusive combination of products and services, a comprehensive program of theme-centered conferences and congresses, and a broad spectrum of up-to-date industry information.

Exhibitor Statements bautec 2018

The key to solving Germany’s housing shortage problem is to industrialise housing construction. I welcome the fact that bautec made modular construction one of its main topics. The special Housing Construction Show impressively demonstrated that not only is modular construction affordable, it is also appealing in terms of architectural design. In order to build more we also need more workers. I was very pleased that construction industry companies are making use of bautec as a platform for attracting newcomers. By establishing the Construction Career Center bautec has found the right solution. The message delivered by the Construction Career Center was impressive: those who choose a construction career today can find secure and attractive jobs in a booming industry.

Dieter Babiel, chief executive of the German construction industry association Hauptverband der Deut

I visited bautec twice in one week. The fair always inspires everyone involved in construction and housing. On the one hand one can view all the industry’s new products and on the other one can see that they have a practical value. That is why I find bautec so fascinating every two years.

Dr. Barbara Hendricks, Federal Minister, Environment, Nature Conservation, Building & Nuclear Safety

It was a great pleasure to be at bautec once again this year. It is exciting to see what new developments there are. Exhibitors at bautec face the same challenges as the entire industry: digitalisation, making technological progress and increasing efficiency. The companies have many ideas on how to confront these issues and in doing so benefit everyone in the process. Overall, I found the mood very good here.
