VIP Evening – Modular Construction

Attended by leading experts, the VIP Evening on the opening day will be looking at an important topic: modular construction. State Secretary Gunther Adler of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Reactor Safety (BMUB) will hold the opening speech. Afterwards, a discussion among experts will take place with the following: State Secretary Gunther Adler, Klaus Pöllath, vice president, Technical Affairs, of the German Construction Industry Association (HDB), Dipl-Ing. Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann, president of the German Architects' Association (BAK), and Axel Gedaschko, president of the National Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies (GdW). Concluding the event, Dipl.-Ökonom Michael Neitzel, managing director of InWIS Forschung & Beratung GmbH, will talk about practical aspects of modular construction. Dr. Norbert Lehmann (ZDF) will moderate the event, which is by special invitation only.

At the Real Estate Day, which is taking place for the first time, Parliamentary State Secretary Iris Gleicke of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) will take part in a discussion on energy efficiency, affordability and the energy transition.

Federal Minister Hendricks at the BMUB Symposium
Marshall Haus, Berlin Exhibition Grounds
Federal Minister Hendricks will take part in the BMUB Symposium on ’Innovative Housing Concepts: Variable Housing and Pilot Projects’. The event will provide an insight into the Variable Housing Programme, individual pilot projects and the accompanying research. The pilot projects with their focus on sustainable, low-cost construction of variable housing promote innovative architecture, construction and technology in an aim to provide housing for students and trainees which can easily be converted for use by other groups in society.

Presentation of the bautec.INNOVATION AWARD
Halle 23b, Stand 206
The focus of the competition is on innovative products and system solutions for the construction industry. An innovation is considered a new or evolutionary design recently introduced to the market which successfully meets customers’ needs.
The exhibits of the nominees and winners will be displayed at a special show in Hall 23b. Every vote cast will be registered and evaluated directly at the fair. Voting can take place until 11 a.m. on 23 February 2018.

Trainees from the sanitation, heating and air-condition industries will receive their official job certification from State Secretaries Fischer and Rickerts
Construction Career Center, Hall 26a, Berlin Exhibition Grounds
At the Construction Career Center, State Secretary Hendrik Fischer of the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics and Energy and State Secretary Christian Rickerts of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises will take part in a ceremony attended by trainees and master craftsmen of the guild Innung SHK Berlin and the trade association SHK Brandenburg. This is the largest certification ceremony of its kind of the guilds of the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning industry guilds of Berlin and Brandenburg.
