bautec 2020: Building of the future goes digital
Berlin, 06 February 2020
From 18 to 21 February 2020 the slogan in Hall 4.2 at bautec in Berlin is: Planning. Building. Operating. up#BERLIN is a new joint project by the National Association of the German Building Industry (Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie) and bautec, combining the components of planning, building, housing and operating at one trade fair for the first time. The innovative platform that is up#BERLIN provides all those involved in the value added chain of building with some ideal networking opportunities. The exhibition is rounded off by a programme of papers with outstanding contributors at the Forum up#BERLIN.
On the Tuesday (18.2.) the main topics will be climate protection and sustainability. Among the issues under discussion here will be the requirements for planning using sustainable building products and their practical implementation, as well as building concepts that are fit for the future. With the technical congress on “Serial Construction in Digitalisation” and the technical symposium “Social Acceptance for New Housing Construction”, on the Wednesday (19.2.) the focus will be on affordable living spaces as well as on serial and modular construction. On the same day the Forum up#BERLIN will begin with a political discussion. State Secretary Anne Katrin Bohle, Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and the Community (BMI), will hold discussions with Marcus Becker, Vice President of the National Association of the German Building Industry (HDB), Barbara Ettinger-Brinckmann, President of the German National Chamber of Architects (BAK) and Axel Gedaschko, President of the National Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies on the subject of ”Serial and modular building – a contribution to affordable housing and construction”.
Innovation and Digitalisation, working together in partnership, young professionals and skilled workers is the topic on the Thursday (20.2.) at the Forum up#BERLIN. Topics and questions such as “Climate Protection + Building – what should be done?”, “Innovations – building in the future” and “The digitalisation of construction – and now?” will be dealt with in panel discussions with some highly qualified participants. Experts from Norway including Jette Cathrin Hopp from the Norwegian architectural practice Snøhetta, and representatives of Norwegian exhibitors such as Joma International, MIRIS, Nordic Smart House, Tewo and Cobuilder will also be contributing to the various panel discussions. The main theme on the Friday will be “Subcontractor Management and Safety on Construction Sites”.
The Berlin Chamber of Architects recognises the congress on “Serial Construction in Digitalisation” and the symposium “Social Acceptance for New Housing Construction” as advanced training events. Both of these events are taking place on 19 February at the Forum up#BERLIN. A visit to the Forum up#BERLIN on Thursday, 20 February also counts as participation in an advanced training event. Other events that are recognised by the Berlin Chamber of Architects as instructional components are the bautec Congress “Urban Housing | Positions and Perspectives” and the supporting programme of GRÜNBAU BERLIN.
